The documentary
Afropreneur is a project of TechOfAfrica, a media group covering tech news in Africa. The documentary aims at telling the stories of the tech business ecosystems in 6 francophones countries in Africa (Benin, Cameroun, Congo, Côte d’ Ivoire, Senegal and Togo). We directed the film and lead more than 60 interviews of African start-upers.

Nowadays, metropolises such as Abidjan, Cotonou, Dakar or Douala show us a strong potential for innovation. By giving the floor to more than 60 pioneers of the digital economy in French-speaking Africa, the documentary aims to inspire and encourage young african entrepreneurs to take up digital work.
6 countries, 7 cities
We have been to 6 different countries (Senegal, Ivory Coast, Togo, Benin, Cameroon and Congo) to meet these digital entrepreneurs in Francophone Africa. We filmed their testimonies and their stories in order to understand their motivations, how did they create their businesses, what difficulties they faced and how they overcame them.
